Population % at cons?

I've never been to a con and was wondering what percentage, on average, would you estimate are guys and girls? Is it 50% guy/50% girl, 70/30?

I think it depends what con you go too. When I went to MFF02 the ratio of girls to guys was like 5/95 from what I could gather. AC02 though, it seemed like 40/60. The bigger the con the more balanced the ratio will most likely be.

Yeah it must vary a lot, even the same con will have a different percentage each year.
This year's Eurofurence was about 90/10 guys to girls.
But who knows what it'll be like next year.

Well my first question is "Are you going to the con to hook up?"  If so looking at the proportion of males to females may not give you a good picture.

I am guessing you are a guy looking for a girl.  That said there is going to be a percentage of guys there that will not be competing with you for any available women.  Some because they are mated, some because they are not at the con to "hook up" and some because they are not interested in women.

Beyond the opportunity to "hook up" there is a lot of fun to be had at a con.  Don't let the ratio scare you way, go and have some fun!

EDIT:  Btw, you are only about 4 hours from MFF and its about a month away.  You should come down and have some fun!

The two cons I was at were mostly guys -- maybe like 85 or 90%.  Megaplex had a couple girls except one I later found out was actually a guy o.O

Think there will always be more guys.
The actual percentage is probably based on the type of con.

Furry and/or Comic cons are usually at least 70-80% male.
SciFi and/or Fantasy cons are more like 60-70% male.

Now if you're talking fursuits... probably 50-50.  Though inside the suits are probably more like 85% male.

I would say more like 85.85938%  male at cons...

Actually, the person I was talking about was from Florida, it turned out, and I've met her at several meets since then.  She seems like a cool person, however ephemeral our social encounters have been....  (yes, she's a she, now, too -- another innovation since that con).
