Writing exhaustion
« on: August 21, 2008, 06:36:22 pm »
I just wrote an extremely intense (non-adult, non-violent) scene, with deep, visceral emotion, and I'm starting to feel exhausted. Part of me wants to keep going, but part of me wants to just rest for awhile.

Has anyone else felt this way?

When I finished writing my book (wish I still had the file) It took me nearly a year to start writing again.

All the time. Even now I'm still burnt out from writing in 'Ties that Bind'. I let myself become very involved with character emotions so when I put in things like Meriil having to leave her family of assassins behind, and experiencing the terror of knowing that an entire race wants her dead, and she has few places and friends to turn to, I can feel quite.... bummed for lack of a better word. :(
