I am more evil than the devil
Rich people need me
Poor people have me
If you eat me, you die

what am I?

(i don't know if this one's been on here before, but a friend of mine told me this one, and the answer is very logical once you know it) please, if you know the answer, put it in black, so others will have to mark it to read it.

It does fit all of the criteria... Just not as well.
