I just had the background layer below the outline and coloring layer. For the rainbow flag I just googled it and then downloaded an image as a reference. The size of the image I was working on was 300 pixels tall and there was 6 colors. So that meant that each color was 50 pixels high. From there I just used the eyedropper tool to get the color and selected the area that I wanted to assign that color to.

Yay. ^^ I think my drawing ability is improving.

here is my current wip (If you look closely you can see the horizon. I tend to put my horizon to low so I adjusted it to be higher based off the woodland image):

Yay. First time I have characters interacting ^^ (even if it is a one way interaction)

and started to create a drawing based of this:

I then decided to add a wolf pup trying to get the wolves tail so I looked at a reference: http://www.livingwithwolves.org/images/Gallery_Images/Pups/WS4_0043.2.jpg

Since this wolves are in a woodland tpye are I decided that I'm going to try to make the fur pattern resemble a timber wolf (I'm going to have to add shadows for all those trees): http://th06.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2013/032/e/a/timber_wolf___timberwolf_4_by_bluesgrass-d5thygh.jpg

I decided to stop work on it tonight for a few reasons:
- I need to cook food and I don't want to starve
- I tend to only draw well in the first few hours of drawing
- If I want to complete the artwork quickly I may rush parts of it, get frustrated and ruin it
- It's better to complete art of time because you can look at it after taking a break and realize a few mistakes you have made (wolf's front right paw does not match the front left paw)

If you are trying to improve your art. Remember that art takes time, leaning and patience. Don't do so much art that you get frustrated. Just like anything, try to take appropriate breaks and don't rush. This is a mistake I've made to many times on previous pieces of art.

Yea. I'm trying to work out a way to do that without it looking messy.

(I think I'll redraw the same idea on a new piece of paper)

I'll try to draw the fur like that. Maybe I'll try redrawing the wolf and try not to completely ruin it. I need to place the head lower.

Only shade due to my lack of color pencils

Here's just something drawing that I did at school and then made a digital version at home

It's my second fursona named Alex. It's very hard to get pointed ends on those black lines so I just did that part in photoshop. It's a white tiger.. I know that fur pattern is not accurate but it's just a cartoon version
