Any Polymorphs out there?
« on: October 12, 2005, 11:18:32 pm »
I was just wondering if there were any other polymorphs around here?

For those of you who are wondering, a polymorph can change it's sex between a male and female at any time (No that is not a hermaphridite *sp?*)

Just wanted to throw the question out there  '<img'>

Not I, but some species of fish do this as their natural life cycle.  Groupers start out life as males, and as they mature they become female.  This makes since because the larger individuals carry the eggs, and a larger fish can carry larger eggs.  This gives the fry a better chance of survival as they hatch out more able to cope with the stresses of marine life.  Some amphibains and many lower creatures do this as well.

like Ranma and such?  hm...  can't say I am.  my character follows rather rigid guidelines for what he is and isn't (because he's part of what will eventually be a historical fiction-based story that I'm still plotting over in my mind), so I'm not allowed the leniency of varying in that instance.  however, I'll admit that I find the subject intriguing/interesting, and have no doubt that it'd have its advantages in certain situations, such as RP'ing and events within more fantasy-based writings, but eh, it's just not me.  '<img'>

EDIT:  of course, I'm just talking about my fursona character.  I have pondered the idea of taking the role of a female character a few times before, but those were in the safety of my imagination and I haven't really introduced the idea into anything else.

Heh, well, I don't blame you for not wanting your fur self to change especially if he isn't meant to. The thought of playing a female character instead of a male, or vica versa, usually runs through many furs minds. But haivng your fursona be a polymorph is a bit different.... It leads to interesting... Real life, experiences.  '<img'>

Not a polymorph and I definatly prefer to be male.  Somtimes when I'm sleeping I dreem I'm female and I'v played a female RP charicter but thats about it.

There are other polymorphs?

I shouldn't be surprised, but still...

Cool.

Somehow the term polymorph doesn't seem apt. How about sexomorph?

I say polymorph because that is what we are known by the furry code. So that is why I use it. But it is different for those who have not really thought of it or even heard of it.

'<img'>  There has been times that I would play one or the other but never a charactor that would ever be both... and my fursona is nothing but me anywayz... so it wouldn't apply there.

I"ve always heard the term polymorph to relate to therianthropy and the idea of someone having aspects of a multitude of animals, not necessarily anything to do with gender...
