Good Place to buy a Collar?
« on: August 03, 2006, 01:08:32 am »
I've been thinking of buying a collar for quite some time, but there are no good places in my town that sell good human made collars. I just recently got a credit card so I was wondering if anyone knew a good internet shop where I could pick up a good collar.

I hope this is in the right section '<img'>

Thanks

Try Ebay. You can literally find anything and everything on there. I'm pretty sure you can localize your search for items for sale in Europe or anywhere else.

(Lol, there was once a bazooka for sale...the FBI found out about it and swarmed the guy selling it at the last minute!'<img'>

I don't know any good internet shops, but perhaps you could buy a normal dog collar?  It would probably be cheaper and easier than buying over the internet, and then you could even try it on.  I actually bought mine from a normal store not too far from here.  If you can find one meant to fit a golden retriever or labrador these will usually fit a normal human neck.

Do you need a regular sized collar or a BIG one?

Go to a pet supply store for normal sized ones, you can try them on!

You can also find custom made collars on the internet, look for places that do custom leather work.

The only collar I have is this stretchy one that my sister bought me from a Build-A-Bear Workshop store near my home  '<img'> It's got cute little pink and yellow jewels on it, and a spot to hang a tag from.  She originally got it for me to put on my plushies and stuff, but sometimes I wear it when no one's looking  '<img'>

I got a custom made spiked pink leather collar from ldsleather.
It's very nice. They have a picture of what it looks like on their page. It only cost a little over $50.

I've worn dog collars off and on but I dont care for them most of the time. The material itchs my neck and though I can put up with it (its not *that* bad) its not something I'd consider comfortable. Leather collar tend to be to stiff and if you bend your neck just right they hurt, lol. They make a rolled leather collar you can get from just about any pet shop but i dont like the look of it on myself, but its definatly an option if you like the look.

My alternative is, well, I dunno any other name than Sex Store. They have collars for humans. Most are more Bondage/S&M styled but if you look around some you can find something more suited to a furry =]

I have a nylon dog collar and I bought it from my local grocery store and it's adjustable so you can do that as well since Leather collars tend to shrink and or wear out over time while Nylon last longer if not getting wet and I wear mine 24/7 unless I'm getting a shower then I take it off but as soon as I step out of the shower that is the 1st thing I put back on before my clothes.

I bought my dog collar from Petsmart, though I think it's a little to thick.

Of course, the problem is finding a name tag. As part of my fursona, his nickname "Bosco" is printed in letters filling the entire name tag. Of course, Petsmart only allows for names, addresses and phone numbers. So my query: Where can you find a name tag with the whole name printed across the tag?

Buy a blank tag, then take it to a shop that does engraving and have them engrave it for you.

A big pet shop is one place you could buy one. There are adjustable ones.

Then there are those adult shops which sell collars along with whips and handcuffs for some reason.
