got my collar
« on: January 16, 2005, 01:56:27 am »
After weeks of my friend bugging me to get one, after mentioning the POSSIBILITY of me having one, I got it:)

It's not a real one, cuz i didn't feel like spening 20$ on a dog collar, so i bought a genuine on sale leather belt and an arm band to use for the buckle (came up to 11$-everything was on sale) and i sewed 'em 2gether. that was hard >.<

...ill get a real one later when i have money

Pretty cool! Belts work. I made one out of a velvet/leather one .If you have a Dollar-rama or dollar tree they usually have collars.

Well if it's too late then why not just keep wearing it? The worst is over. Now they'll have to deal with it.

They're just gonna bug you about why you're not wearing it now.

What did they say exactly?

I don't think they'll bug me anymore now that i'm not wearin it and i have the stupid backup lie thing, but it was all kinds of stupid stuff.

"What the **** is that ya goddamned retard?"
"Dude, collars go on dogs, not people"
"*laughs her head off and points*"
"dude, take that off right now. You look like a queer"
"HAHA! HEy! its the dude from that team on Dodgeball"|"Oh yea, 'daddy' haha"
"just one question....****in' WHY?"
*more laughing*

...all sorts of fun stuff ':p'

heh, my parents didn't care, yet my classmates did...weird

Ill try again someother time, maybe high school (next year), cuz no one gives two sweet craps what wear there.

They'll leave me alone now anyways...I hope.

I've never had any real problems with my collar (don't wear it around the family though). One I first started wearing it, I would get some comments along the lines of what you said, but I just ignored them or gave them a nonesensical answer. After a few days they just stoped caring and/or moved on to bothering the next person. The main thing is you have to stop caring what other people think and be yourself.

congrats on the collar!  looks nice on you.

don't worry about what ppl say.  you're gonna be made fun of throughout your life, regardless of who you are or what you like, cuz some ppl are just buttmunches like that.  just gotta roll with the punches, tell them to screw off (in your head of course), and keep on moving.  who cares what they say?  they s**k and you don't.   '<img'>

Awww.. Well I'm sorry about that. *hugs* Middle schoolers can be really stupid like that. High school is a little better, though it sort of took til junior year for some of that crap to tone down at least in my case. College is great though. People mind their own business, heheh.

Now i'm havin major...uh...thought swings (?) about wearing it again. No one mentioned it today iguess no one cares..., exept one girl (who doesn't count as she is a total nerd) who asked me where it was, but perhaps i'll try again next time i wear my huge sweater and you can hardly see it, and then i'll ease my way out from there, and by the time someone notices, I'll be able to say "dude, I've been wearin it for a while"

now that I think, they only bugged me for a like 5 mins, and kinda ignored it (exept that nerdy girl who kept laughing), and when we went out for lunch, i put it on and no one cared (someone actually thought it was cool ^.^), had it on all lunch, got one question of "whats with the...?" but he didnt care.

...come to think of it, it doesnt help much that i was wearing my dorky-@$$ school band uniform at the time cuz we went to play at this news conference (I was on TV ^^), Halifax gets the 2006 Juno's (w00t), and we got a 10 000$ grant for the band program, and we didnt get back in time to change, so the band had their uniforms, so it probably looked worse.

...then there's the other half of me who thinks "im gonna get ripped-up if i wear that stupid thing again..."

and lastly...the weirdest part, my mom don't care that i wear it, my dad actually thought it was cool (i dunno), yet the other "rockers" at school (we all are) didn't. Kinda confusing...

It's always the dorkiest/nerdiest/biggest losers that won't let go of jokes, because they know as soon as it dies the focus is back on how much of a loser they are. I'm sure most people won't care if you come back with it again. And who cares what they think? They're snot nosed little cookie cutter people who bring nothing new to the world. Middle school is harsh no matter what you do or look like. It's a jungle.

Well, I guess I'll try again. The "just be yourself" thing isn't really for me, cuz..well..i'm NOT the type of person that would be wearing one. im just gonna layer on the sweaters so its not completely in view.

I hope if I just grid past the few periods of hell, the rest wont be so bad. Heh, theres about a million combacks I can give to that nerd anyways.

I honestly don't think anyone would go too crazy...at least, i hope desperately ':p'

Thanks for the support, guys! I'll keep this adventure posted lol

Well, I didn't wear it today, cuz it was Phys ED 1st period and it would have brought up attention in the locker room, but oddly, someone asked to buy it off me, but i said i'd make him one if he got me eather money or a belt, cuz he really liked it. So, if he starts wearin it, when i do it won't be so bad cuz i wont be the only one  '<img'>  Lucky!

yeah, whe I was in middleschool everyoen was paranoid about "fitting in", therefor they picked at everyone who did one thing slightly out of line.  Dunno if it's changed much in 5 years, but now I'm a senior in HS and noone gives a rip.  If someone gives more that an odd look it's usually "Whoa, your wearing a collar (or tail, I wear my tail more often), cool!!" If I do get a negative comment it's usually from a froshman who is still stuck in the old minset.

Either way, I don't care.  Neither should you.  So what if you wear a collar or not?  It's noone's buisness but yours.

Just watch out for people (especially freinds) who like to play practical jolks.  You might find yourself going for an unwanted walk or tied out '<img'>

Well, moved up a BIT, wore it to Sunday SChool on Wednsday (no, we dont have it on sunday), and no one mentioned it, but its real easy to tell if people are looking at your neck, snd today, this afternoon (friday, figured "what the hell")I wore it cuz i had on my big sweater and you cant see it really well. I had it pushed down as far as it'll go. SOmeone who didnt see it asked "wheres your Goth collar" and I just pointed to my neck, he just nodded with an "i see" expression on, that nerd Jackie laughed again, but she was the only one who said anything so no one cared. It was all good during History class, but then we had Band and my saxophone harness forced it into plain view, but I didn't care anymore. '<img'> '<img'>

might try again on monday, not sure yet though .

small steps, IT'S GETTIN THERE! '<img'>
