Hmmm, I guess the furst reason I got one was to become a lifestyler. Second, it's different. Third, see furst reason.  '<img'>
I feel different when I wear my collar honestly. When I take it off for work, I feel like a part of me is missing, like i'm not myself. I really do love wearing it.

so wearing a collar makes you a lifestyler. this is terribly interesting to me. So in order to be a lifestyler you have to have a collar. my question is how exactly does that work? so Tigers where collars? wolves wear collars? I'm getting sick and tired of people who are like "ZOMG!!! I gots teh collar I R SO FURRY NOW!!' or 'hey guys heeheehee I wore my tail in public so's I can be teh furry, I'm such a rebel..." fer starts. People like that is one of the reasons why I DON'T wear a collar anymore. Remember, Punks started the collars. not furs. and this whole big thing about 'I wore a tail I'm such a rebelz0r! I wear the collar in front of people I'm a big bad furry rebel!!'
Okay dude... This is what I look like EVERYDAY

and yes, I am wearing a tail. ya just can't see it, WHy? because I like my tail, not because I want to make a big deal out of it. I deal with ALOT of flak and crap because of the way I choose to look and do I make a big deal out of it? NO, I don't you don't see me posting every three seconds with my 'some old lady at the supemarket looked at me!!!' threads.
does my tail make me a fur? no, it doesn't.
Furry isn't a freakin' fashion accessory... People need to stop trying to make it one.

No need to blow this out of proportion. If you don't like threads about furs saying "ZOMG!!! I gots teh collar I R SO FURRY NOW!!' then simply don't read them or reply to them. Easy fix.
No, I don't think i'm furry just becuase I have a collar. I was a furry long before I bought my collar. Do the clothes you where make you punk? Do those suspenders, not being used for there intended purpose make you any more punk then the next?
"A furry lifestyler may also take on physical attributes of an animal, although this is rare. Such attributes may be: hair style (including facial hair), tattoos, articles of clothing (e.g. a tail or ears), or jewelry."
Collars can be considered either articles of clothing OR jewelry. And it also says "MAY". Doesn't mean a lifestyler HAS to. No one has ever said that.
Everyone has a different way of expressing themselves as you have shown in that picture of yours.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do about collars.
Ciao

no one ever said that wearing a collar makes you a lifestyler, or u have to wear a collar to be a lifestyler, people wear what they want to wear, and if they wish to be a lifestyler and wearing a collar makes them feel more like a lifestyler then there shouldnt be anything wrong with that, people wear what they like for their own reasons, just like the reasons you wear what you wear

Like owning a collar is a prerequisite for being a lifestyler. This is what it is suggesting.

Isn't that what a lifestyler is? Someone who takes furry to the extreme? Wearing a collar/tail/ears/wiskers, meowing/barking/chirping, walking/talking/acting like an animal? I'm pretty sure those will classify you as a lifestyler.
As far as the "prerequisite for being a lifestyler" not so much what I meant. There aren't any rules that say you HAVE to wear a collar to be a lifestyler.

In response to Genocide:

I agree with TigeyYigey and Truefox here.

I did not get my collar to rebel, to go around saying "LOOK AT ME! I'M FURRY!"  I bought a collar because it felt right, it feels good around my neck.  When I wear it, I do so for my own personal satisfaction, not to label myself.

To be honest, I haven't worn it out in public yet, and personally don't need to.  I don't need to tell the world that I am a furry, the fact that I am furry is important to me and me alone.

We have posted our collars here out of innocence, to share a little piece of our furriness with others.  We have nothing to prove, and do not need to prove it to you or anyone else.  This is probably the biggest lesson I have learned in my short time in Furtopia.   There is no test, no trial by fire that says "YOU ARE FURRY".  I am who I say I am, not what other people make me out to be.

I don't need the collar to be furry.  I wear the collar to be ME.  '<img'>

Well, I let my RA at college see mine today when he came by for me to fill out some paper work, did take off my tail first though, that would be a little too much for the poor guy. As is he was like "Why do you have a dog collar around your neck? Don't you think that's a little weird?" with big eyes. I was just like, "Nah, not for me."

I found my own reason to wear it, to remind myself that I'm God's little kitty cat  '<img'>

and yes, I am wearing a tail. ya just can't see it, WHy? because I like my tail, not because I want to make a big deal out of it.
I'm done.

"Hmmm, I guess the furst reason I got one was to become a lifestyler."

Like owning a collar is a prerequisite for being a lifestyler. This is what it is suggesting.

if you read my whole post youll notice i actually explain what im saying, if you take my words out of context that what it may sounds like, but as i already said its part of being a lifestyler if you feel its appropriate to your furryness, u dont need one to be a lifestyler but if you want one and feel it makes you a lifestyler then there shouldnt be a problem with it

Question:

Why?

Cuase

No its a serious questions!

why do you want a collar?

ooohhhh, sorry.
