Reminiscent of childhood fursonas

I ALWAYS used to pretend to be a cheetah or another big cat (Except for lions, I didn't like them because they killed cheetahs, and I thought tigers should have been "the king of beasts".). I remeber making up animal versions of me and pretending they were in my favorite shows, books, and movies.

I even used to imagine that my pets got turned into Athros versions of themselves, and what that would be like.

Canids were a constant theme in my youth.I used to play "dog" all the time when I was little.I'd walk on all fours, bark and follow our shepherd around.Even when I got older I'd often envision myself as a dog.Pictures in my mind not of human me but canine me.
Then there was the time my friend and I were out riding bikes at night. There was a full moon so I started howling, like a werewolf. Then he joined in and we rode up and down the street howling at the moon and snarling.

I've always had "fursonas"... or at least furry characters that I drew all the time when I was little...

Here's a brief rundown of the ones I had:

F.L. Cat:  Basically a sonic the hedgehog clone, only he was an orange cat.  Seriously... take Sonic, remove the spikes, make him orange, give him a longer tail and that was my character.  I had this character about 5th grade-ish.

Donnie D. Fox:  A anthro fox with rollerblades, a backwards hat, and sunglasses.  **shrugs**  It was the mid 90s, I didn't know any better.  LOL.  He had a sidekick named Johnny Jay... Who was (surprise, surprise) a blue jay.

You guys are lucky that I don't post my old drawings of those characters.  LOL.

I created Ulario about 8-9 years ago and she's been my fursona ever since, though she's gone through quite a few changes over the years.

Yup, yup.  I used to think I was a tiger when I was really little.  I've had a feline fursona ever since I can remember....

I used to have a doggy fursona. I wonder how I ended up becoming a cat.

My first fursona came as soon as I moved from my old home in the cities of Colorado to the country side of Idaho.  When I was 12, I saw raccoons for the first time and I became very fascinated so I created my first fursona which was a raccoon.

Then a year later, after I moved into another house for the 4th time in the same year, I became more interested in foxes after reading fanfics about Star Fox and Sonic.  A spcieces change was made to a silver fox, but my original fursona did not vanish.  He is right now used as another character in my art and writings.

We had a pack of dogs... and I spent more time outside with them than with my family, I think. So I joke and say that I was raised by the mama dog we had... though now I think she played a larger role than I thought. Always have thought myself more of a dog than human, I guess.

Then I went to college, forgot about such things, was heavily into Jimmy Buffett and was obsessed with drawing an anthro red Macaw... Parrothead... that was me for awhile.

Then I was back to wondering what was wrong with me. Then I realized I was a shepherd, Kai, and everything since then has turned up roses. ^_^

I was obsessed with cats, and I had this alter ego type person. A white, anthro cat named Cassie. When I think about it, she was your typical fursona- I drew pictures of her, wrote stuff about her (well, made up stories... i was a kid...) and she basically  was me.

Same here, except that mine was an anthro bird. I decided on this after trying out various RL birds and found them wanting. I guess I was about 6 at the time. Later on, I had others: a Flying Fox and later a Red Fox. After a hiatus lasting some five years, I found my last and final fursona: dolphin. That was some 30 years before I ever learned that "Furry" had any meaning beyond a reference to that which covers the exteriors of most mammals.

Then, when I was a little older, me and my best friend/neighbor had this game. Well, all our games were weird, normal kids play tag and house and hide and seek... in all our games, we were always animals, and they were more like roleplaying than anything else.

Been there; done that.   '<img'>

i always roleplayed as an animal when i was little, usually by myself  ':dead:' (not many friends when i was little) all my imaginary friends were anthro animals, most of them zombies or the undead versions of pets that died and stuff
i also used to pretend i was a reptile/cat/wolf thing with bat wings that evolved kinda like a digimon  '<img'> i also used to walk around on all fours either meowing, barking, or hissing
OH...i remember for like  year and a half me and one of the kids from school who didnt think i was crazy, we used to pretend we were raptors and run around the woods screaming and hissing  ''
