Well, we recently had a little discussion at home about whether or not humans shed.
Both I and my mother have periods of about two weeks, twice a year, when we lose a lot of hair (more than usual anyway '<img'> ). And in winter my hair is twice as thick as in summer.
My dad, however, doesn't believe a word of it and insists that humans don't shed. Of course he doesn't have much hair left, but still... What do you think?

i dont think humans do (except my sisters who eternally leave their hair all over the place, ughh), although i did shed a ton of hair across maybe 4-6 weeks over december and january for some reason. probably because i was swimming in feral lakes nearly every day while on holiday but none the less  ':p'

Actually, like skin cells,  we shed hair follicles at certain intervals too. Though thankfully not at the same rate (otherwise we'd always be bald). I'm not particularly sure, but we shed skin cells daily...while I think hair is at a much slower rate (?).

Anyway, just don't panic if you spot a few hairs on your pillow one morning. As long as you keep good hygiene, it's natural.

Well yes, of corse we shed, and it becomes quite apperent of one dose not shower for oh say, a week. that is, if the hair dose not get all stuk together in the meantime, then it wont come out till you shower XD. So yes, we most definately shed, if at a slow rate.

Oh yes, I shed. I constantly find a few hairs here and there and everywhere in my dorm despite my efforts to keep it clean.

Or maybe I should say I molt.  '<img'>

I shed daily except it's my skin... Every time I get in the shower alot of skin comes off of me... I think it's the dragon thing because they shed alot too...it's kinda freaky and it's really hard to hide all the red spots...

When I was working as a welder I worn now arm covering while operating the arc welder and after a while of this, the hair on my arms started flling out in patches from the light radiation. this lasted for a few months and then grew back.

There are usually a few stray hairs stuck on the end of my deodorant stick, so yeah I think it's fair to say the stuff comes out.

I don't believe I shed, but that can probably be attributed to the fact that any hair not superglued to my scalp comes out whenever it's brushed.

Thick, wavy locks for the win? Don't think so. =/

I'm pretty shaggy when it comes to arm, leg, and everywhere else hair. Everytime we clean our room (once a week) I pull out this huge clump of it from under my bed  ':p'  Yeah, we definitly shed.

I don't shed body hair (unfortunatly), but my head-hair is quite long, so you notice it when it falls out.

That and I'm probably going bald.

I do cut my hair for summer, once a year. I call it "my summer coat" '<img'>

I've got long hair... So showers means it comes out like I ought to be bald by the end of the week. Shedding seasonally though? For a long time I thought I did. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if your hair really makes all that much of a difference.

Humans who shed don't do it because winters rolling in... well, then again... nevermind. And are seldom pleased with the outcome. '<img'>

Seriously though, as for shedding, it's never really happened to me yet.

Probably something you don't notice without alot of hair...and being 40% italian means I have ALOT of hair '<img'>
I noticed that my hair grows fastest in the summer and fall than the rest of the year. I havn't needed to shave for a few days now since it isn't growing that fast (actually getting where I like it for once)

Sure, I don't see why not.  '<img'>

But yeah, I definitely think people shed.  I wouldn't be surprised if it accelerated seasonally. I always seem to notice it more in the spring.  Regardless, people always lose at least 20 to 100 hairs a day. ''
