The Great Furry Diet
« on: March 06, 2005, 01:59:59 pm »
somebody mentioned this in another thread, and I figured that instead of going off subject somewhere else, I'd create a new thread for greater notice and participation.

yes, we do need a furry diet... here's what I think it'd say:

breakfast:  wet catfood with a tall glass of milk, to make you high on life for the morning

lunch:  dry dogfood and glass of water, to give you that extra boost of protein and nutrients and energy for your afternoon

afternoon snack:  rawhide chew bones and/or milkbones and/or dog treats, depending on your appetite, cuz you deserve it!

dinner:  great big slab of raw meat, topped with warmed blood gravy, served with your choice of beverage, since dinner is the grand meal of the day

go out and try the furry diet!  you'll eat great and lose weight at the same time!

Raw meat?  Some of us are herbivorous, you know.  (At least ideally.  But the human in me does, unfortunately, like his meat.  Not raw, though.)

sounds good!

I wouldn't trust wet cat (or dog) food and I'd switch the meals.  Have the big breakfast, that way you have all your fuel for the day right off the bat, and you don't need to eat a big meal right befor you sleep.

I'd stay clear from it. I don't like catfood and I doubt that raw meat would be much better. Dogfood is ok, but I'd rather not live on it.

Nah, you'll have to come up with something better.

oh yeah, I forgot to add that if the proposed diet plan doesn't appease you, then change it to something that's at least somewhat similar to what I have that does suit your liking.  since the main objective of this thread was to find out what would be good on our diet plan.

I do have as high a metabolism as you! And you're right about diets romper.

I prefer the crisp cold sensation of lettuce or a good carrot. NOT steamed but fresh out of the garden. I apparently got my girlfriend hooked on them. we finished a 4 lb bag together.

Also toast with any condiment of sorts like jam I perfer rhubarb strawberry  '<img'>

That's basically all I eat nowadays.

Gee, I always thought that the Furry diet would look something like this:-

Breakfast: Plain Cookies
Lunch: Cookies
Afternoon Snack: Muffins
Dinner: Pizza

Although I don't think you'd lose too much weight... or be very healthy '' '<img'>
Do you like pillows? I do! ... because I'm only allowed soft things.

How about rotten meat, like that guy on Ripley's? With so many foxes in the fandom, and since they're the unofficial mascot of furryness in general, we might as well have a fox's diet. Garbage and roadkill.

yow... burnidated... even I won't go THAT far...  besides, that really isn't all foxes eat.  they also prey upon rabbits, mice, and various nuts and berries in some places.  but, sorry, you got me with the roadkill/trash deal, I ain't doing that.

I thought raccoons were the ones rumoured to only eat trash and roadkill.

Either way I'm not into cat food. I prefer tuna, which come to think of it, I have been eating way too much of lately. '<img'>

Seal pups for breakfast, seal pups for lunch, seal pups for supper.

I jest, i jest!!
More like:
Human food for breakfast: bagel, yogurt, cereal.

Herbivorian lunch: Salad with fresh greens, spinach tofu, a vegan cookie.

Carnivorian supper: Steak and eggs, wash it down with a couple grasshoppers and a big glass of milk.

(p.s. why do they use meal worms for maggots in movies? Meal worms are the ones with the black nose, and long yellow body, maggots are nearly transparent. Point being, mealworms are good eats, maggots are totally not.)

errrr surely fursona specific diets would make more sense. horses dont normaly eat meat, nor do alot of things come to think of it. so if your a carnivore you can only eat things you killed yourself unarmed and raw, if you are a carrion eater only eat raw meat other people have left, scavengers could only eat left overs out of bins and off peoples plates and the like.

i really dont fancy eating mice and birds you know how many potentialy deadly things you can get from a pigieion?

romper> High metabolism? Is that what that is? *looks at tummy* Oh, yeah... I don't have a tummy. '<img'>

I suppose Mitsuko's (my) diet would look more like this;

Breakfast - Nuts 'n' berries! Yaaay! ...hey, kitties can be omnivores... :P
Lunch - Mitsuko doesn't eat lunch...
Dinner - Meat! *_* Doesn't matter what's on it, da kitter just needs MEAT! Preferably a deer. :3 Sorry to all you furry-deers out there... ^^;
Snacks - Uh... leftovers? o.O

All drinks would just be water. Assuming the diet is all-natural animal stuff that is. ;P

I always wanted to eat a monkey face (yes, just the face), but my sister told me it's diseased, soo... <.< I suppose we could always boil it, though, get the germs out... '<img'>

Here's my diet...

Breakfast: nothing
Lunch: nothing
Dinner: if I actually eat something, a raw (or near raw) steak dripping with blood, maybe salmon or some other fish...and perhaps a bit of fruit

I'm usually not at all hungry. I drink beverages like a freaking camel though. I do pretty well on my diet of...water and meat. I've just not been in the mood to eat anything lately. I can go for days without touching food but I always have to have something to drink. Human food (or any food for that matter) just doesn't appeal to me anymore. I get cravings for blood though. Heh, maybe I'm turning into a vampire.  '<img'>

That's not happening for two reason....I do not eat based on my fursona and if I did, being a wolf (wild animal fursona) I would not eat food meant for house pets. Here's my current diet...

breakfast:  Coffee (It’s the only thing keeping me awake and sane at my boring and pointless job) and maybe a donut or honey bun

lunch:  fast food or leftovers

afternoon snack: N/A, I avoid snacks to keep in weight standards (I’m in the navy) and as a feudal attempt to ‘eat healthier’

dinner:  whatever my roommate and I can find around the house

Meh, I think I'll pass on the furry diet. None of what you've proposed sounds too appetizing-- at least, not to someone who knows the pleasures of sitting in the middle of an entire meadow full of delicious plants. ^_^
