When the fur takes over!

well. I don't 'growl' as such, it's not the most feline thing to do :P and snow leopards can't roar, so there's none of that (although i suppose I was known, at one point years ago, for being able to roar quite loudly)

The quiet growling noise at the back of the throat I can do, but I'm far more inclined to make strange noises when I'm frustrated at something

Barking? Only in reply to my dog  '<img'>

In public.. well, i'm not really all that 'public' very often, so the closest I'd get is school. Even so, I never really growl or bark or hiss. I prefer the quieter approach to releasing my character, walking as silently as possible. Out and about with the ears paws and tail, I haven't actually come in contact with anything providing the need to actually do anything 'abnormal'. So i walk around on the front of my feet (digitigrade)

I growl when angry, like most of you do. Some times I talk to dogs, through a series of barks and woofs. :P Sometimes people look at me, but who cares.

When going up the stairs in my house, I go up it on all-fours, like I used to do as a kid. I also walk or run on my toes, otherwise known as digitigrade.

I also tend to howl every now and then, but thankfully, no one's around to hear it. '<img'>

It depends how comfortable a situation I'm in. Around some people, I'd never let out any animal sounds more than under my breath. I have control over it, but sometimes I just let loose if I can, it feels good. Yea, maybe its a bit silly or strange to some, but I like it. I often howl back at canines, even in movies. One time a classmate did a pretty good quiet howl, and I just howled back. I'll meow with my cat sometimes.

Well, kangaroos don't usually make a whole lot of noise, so im mostly safe there, but i ocassionally enjoy barking at cars, just for fun though you know? And whenever i go places whoever im with usually gets mad because I do jump over anything that looks fun to jump  '<img'>

I've been quoted as saying 'nyaow' before, and sometimes I hiss when I'm angry, though the hissing has been described as that of a vampire instead of a feline. ''

Well snakes don't growl, but I do. I howl too but that's just because it's fun. It's so funny to hear all the neighborhood dogs go nuts over it. '<img'> I tend to hiss at people more than anything though. You know I'm annoyed when I start to hiss. Pushing me any further is likely to get you a few bruises.

Being a lion, I growl and roar when I'm mad, usually reguardless of where I am. I've never howled, though, since lions don't usually do that.. Though I have been tempted to. ':p' I also walk digitigrade almost everywhere, 'cept when I'm in shoes and in a public area. Then I just "sorta" walk digitigrade, with my heels about a centimeter off the ground. ':p'

I've not really been one for self constraint in the noise deptarment.  I once meow-ed in a questioning way at one of my professors when she asked me to do something that was unclear.  But... because I was the art major with paint still stuck in my eyebrow from earlier that day, it was okay.  '<img'>

But I bark, howl, meow, and growl with the best of them without even thinking whether or not I am public.   Like I said, artisits are expected to be a bit touched!!   '<img'>

I've been making more wolf-like noises the last few days. A bunch of my friends at camp and school know I have a thing for wolves, plus I had a leather collar and a heavy duty six foot teal leash on, so they try to get me into character sometimes. Sometimes it just happens anyway, but I usually do it for fun. '<img'>

How are some of you able to purr? I didn't think humans were able to make that sound. (At least not with their vocal chords) Wolf and dog noises are relatively easy to make, though for some reason I'm incapable of barking at all. Usually I don't make much noise at all, I really don't talk alot either.

I can purr by rolling my tounge and thanks to speaking German for 7 years of living in the country and trilling r's I can also purr in the back of my throat.   '<img'>

How are some of you able to purr?

I can do it by slightly putting the back of my tongue into the right position and breathing over that little thing that hangs in the back of your throat, causing it to slightly "tap" (for lack of a better word) against my tongue.

Depending on the intensity I do this it can be a purr or a growl.

Purrings no that hard but I am not a cat, I tend to find it harder to get my canine noises right like the basic yip, murr, and bark

When I get angry I growl, and just today, a kid tried to steal my food at lunch and I growled at him, everyone thought I was weird, but hey he tried to take my food! lol  '<img'>

I tend to growl at people too, although it's usually in a more playful sense or maybe when I'm slightly annoyed with a friend or something. But I never do it to people I don't know too well and I'm never seriously mad when I do. What's funny though is I never even thought about me doing it until I heard about others doing it too.

I howl every now and then while yawning in public, but once again usually only around people I know fairly well.  When I get a good stretch though, it's anybody's guess what kind of sound is gonna come out of my mouth.  '<img'>

Another mannerism I never connected to being a furry is the digitigrade thing.  I do it all the time when I'm bare foot.

Oh, I'm also a big culprit of running up stairs on all fours, in private and around friends. ^^

I've been noted for making weird noises and snarling...once while on the bus, I blurted out that I was yiffy and the bus drivers snot-nosed brat kept asking what it was...the bus driver couldn't figure it out so he started bugging me... ''

I'm a nuzzler :P

I suppose I should be more specific.

I'm a nuzzler with all emotes included. The purring and the :3 face and the licking. Yes, I do this in public, I don't care ^^
