Welcome to 2020. It's time to  talk about saving our  environment,
and what Trump and the GOP are doing about it. Or I should say
NOT doing about it.

The GOP leadership in our government claim climate change isn't
due to humanity, but science has shown increases in temperatures
and ocean levels over the last 150 years. Most of it since the start
of the industrial revolution. We can either close our eyes or accept
the truth. A truth that demands we have to  change or face disaster
for our planet. Which is due to pollution, and not due to natural
events as the GOP wants to claim.

President Trump started out by pulling us out of the world
agreement to reduce carbon usage. Then started pushing
the use of dirty coal for energy. So it's obvious that Trump
has no plan to cut pollution or carbon consumption in our
country, or the world for that matter.

Since Trump has been in office, he has opened our coastal
areas for oil exploration. Government lands for Mining, and
national forests for logging. All of which ads to pollution and
destruction of the environment. Not counting the risks to
pristine lands and seashores. All to benefit big business.

Though the coal industry  does provide jobs, but those mining
coal can learn other jobs that pay well. Jobs that don't hurt
the  environment. They should want a future for their children
that is fit to live in. Not one where they have to fight terrible
weather, driven by a ruined environment.

Yes it will cost more now, but if we don't pay now to save
our planet, it will cost a great deal more in the not to distant
future.  Not only in money, but in lives.

The republican party  who work mostly for big business, doesn't
want to increase costs  of living to save the planet, and definitely
not cost big business  their profits. Many of these people only
care about their seat   in congress, and not the future for our
planet or our children.   By the time our coastal cities flood,
and food crops fail, it will  be too late to make a difference or
even stop global warming.   It may even be too late now, but
what will you tell your  descendants if we do nothing?

Yes I know a lot of people like Trump and the GOP because they
are against immigrants, abortion, and gay's, but if the planet
becomes to hot to support life,   It won't matter who runs the
country, or the world, and only the rich will have any chance
of  life, while the rest of us suffer and die.

Yes this apocalypse is in our future, though it might be 100
years, but more likely less than 50. We can't wait to see. If
we do,it will be too late. Just like a fire, climate change starts
slow, but once well started it will be very hard to stop.

The danger from a climate gone wild is the wars it will start.
Because people will fight to survive. Millions will be on the
move to find a environment where they can live. National brders
won't stop them, or their military, and they will use any and
all weapons to keep from losing. I am sure in desperation a
nuclear war will start. A war that will send survivors back to
a hand to mouth existence if they are lucky. If not it's a reset
for the planet, and the life on it.

Only time will tell, and we should vote to save the planet first
and our petty differences later.

I wish all a happy and better new year.

Yesterday I talked about the GOP and Trump's  response
to the  environment. It's not just the air  we breathe. The
ocean's are warming too. At a  point the warmth will cause
the release of large  amounts of green house gasses trapped
on the ocean floor. Also these temperature changes can affect
ocean currents. The gulf stream is a major flow of warm water
that helps keep Europe  warm. The ice melt in Greenland could
affect this flow turning Europe much colder.

Already warmer ocean temperatures
are causing huge areas of ice to break
away from the antarctic ice pack. This
loss is allowing glaciers to dump huge
amounts of ice in to the antarctic ocean.

All this just adds to sea levels. Levels
that will flood islands and coastal areas
that provide homes for millions in the
future.

Trump likes to brag about how much money he is raising for his
campaign to be re elected. Well he is just one man. If you add
up all the money raised by the Democrats for president, Trump's
doesn't really match up. We should remember Trump lies all the
time, so anything he says is suspect.

The war hawks were out on news shows over the weekend. Trump
is promising a response to the attack on our embassy in Iraq. So
we can only wonder what Trump will do. He is playing a dangerous
game with Iran, and even with Iraq as there isn't a stable government
to work with there. And a lot of the Iraq people would like to see
us leave.

President Trump might be able to sell real estate, but he is a lousy
diplomat. His dismantlement of the State Department has put our
country at risk. Trump thinks he can talk anyone into anything.
So he thinks diplomats are a waste of time. Well his idea of kissing
up to the North Korean leader has only made the murdering crooked
leader of North Korea stronger, not weaker, Or even to stop building
long range missiles and nuclear bomb to put on them.

Also his bullying tactics with Iran hasn't done anything to cool tensions
in the region. If anything it's getting worse, and may soon explode into
war. I am sure we  do a number on their air defense, and Navy rather
quickly, but that is just a start. They are not the Iraq we stepped on
several years ago. Iran has a huge ground army,  and war tested
dedicated fighters to go with it. It's likely Russia  will be happy to send
them weapons that could do a lot of damage. Putin has a large Moslem
population to keep happy, so he will help Iran if they need it.

Another thing is Iran fighters are not going to stay in Iran, they will
attack us anywhere in the world if a real war is  started. Iranian fighters
only need the word and they will be on the move. The attack on our
embassy is just the  beginning. Because they could attack the embassy
in Iraq with many more followers. Possibly to the point where Trump
might authorize deadly force to stop it, and that could push the region
into a full blown war.

Well president Trump did it, and harshly. There is no doubt the general
he had killed was a terrible  person. But one mans murderer is another
mans hero, and this General was a hero to the nation of Iran. Trump
said this man should have been killed years ago. If so why did he wait
so long. Trump could have done this in 2017 if it was so important.

President Trump is claiming this assassination was to prevent attacks on
diplomats and other officials by this Iranian General. Though this man was
an excellent tactician, it's doubtful his death would stop plans for attacks
he already had in work. Any great military man would have his death
prepared for. So country's around the world, including the U S are
increasing security to  prepare for a response from Iran.

So it appears Trump thinks he has shown himself to stand strong
against terrorism. To punish Iran for the attack on the U S embassy.
Well the opposite is true. Trump is a reactionist, with little or no plans
or policy except to put pressure on Iran, instead of diplomacy. We can
hope Trump isn't spoiling for a war, hoping Iran will give him the
excuse to respond with total warfare.

The U S under Obama and 6 other countries  worked out a plan to
keep Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Trump with his hate
for Obama pulled the U S out of the deal. So now they are restarting
their nuclear program. Also since Trump broke the deal, Iran increased
it's acts of terrorism. People in the know told Trump it was a big mistake
to pull us out, but Trump with is plan to undo all of Obama's work did it
anyway.

Of course the GOP and all of Trumps supporters are hailing Trump as
a hero for getting rid of this terrible man. Trump even implied he
couldn't brief the leaders of congress, because they couldn't keep
it secret. I am sure Trump was told he needed to inform congressional
leaders, but as usual Trump thumbs his nose at the rules. It's likely
Trump would start a war with Iran without congressional authority
if he thought it would benefit him personally. Unfortunately as long
as the GOP stand with Trump there is little the Democrats can do.

Trump may think a war with Iran would keep him in office. It is sad
that it might just do that. A lot of people feel it's best to not change
leadership during a war. I wonder though when body bags start piling
up. Will his followers continue to support him?

All is speculation now, but I am sure we will soon hear from Iran, and
not just the cry's to attack the U S A, but with violence to the innocent.
A war with Iran will cost thousands of lives, and trillions of dollars. Trump
seems to think it would be a quick win. This just shows Trumps ignorance.
Even once the military was defeated it wouldn't stop.

President Trump claims he doesn't want a war. Then why is he trying to goad Iran
into starting a war with the U S? So far his only excuse for assassinating Iran's top
General is because he thought the General was about to kill a lot of Americans. So
far there is little evidence of any special threat other than to our embassy in Iraq
by a mob.

This General's death was well deserved, but what plan or strategy  does this
begin or continue. I think Trump used this as a distraction for the most part. Yet
I really think Trump wants a war, not started by him, but by Iran. Because he ran
for president claiming he was going to get the U S out of the middle east. So if he
started a war, it would show he lied. It's likely Trump wants this because he fears
he will loose  the election in 2020, and a war might keep him in the white house.
He accused  Obama in 2011 that he would start a war with Iran to win the 2012
election. So we know this would  be in his mind. So all our people who have
family in the  military should understand Trump will put your loved ones at
risk for his own benefit. He has added 20,000 troops to the middle east already.

Now Trump is flying to the middle east. Is he hoping there will be a threat
on his person? A threat he could use to give him an excuse to respond
with another attack.

We best hope Iran doesn't decide to really try to hurt the U S A. They have
thousands of missiles and could have a 300,000 man army attacking the oil
industry of the middle east. Shut down oil shipments through the Red sea,
an turn U S embassy's through out the middle east in to rubble. Yes we could
destroy their air defense, and Navy, but by then there wouldn't be any oil
leaving the middle east, which would put the worlds economy in chaos.

It's this threat that I really doubt Trump understands. Trump thinks everyone
in the world worries about money the way he does. So they just couldn't
destroy the income oil brings them.

In past years Trump claimed Obama couldn't make a deal with anyone. Yet
Trump has had little success with China, Iran or North Korea. He claims
his new deal with Mexico and Canada is better, but shows little change or
improvement over the one we had. So far Trump's deals consist of Bullying,
and Charms. Neither of which haven't had any success. Instead he creates
a problem, then if he fixes it, he brags about it.

Trump best hope there isn't a war, because it will wreck the world economy
and that will hurt ours as well.

Apparently I was wrong when I said Trump was going to the middle east.
At the time I thought it was odd our cowardly president would go anywhere
near where their might be danger. At least not by saying so first. I think
it was actually the secretary of state  that went instead. One of Trumps
lackey's.

It seems Trump hasn't come up with a honest excuse for the assassination
of Iran's top General. Except to claim he was planning attacks. Something
this really bad guy made a career out of doing. Now Trump is making
threats against Iran's cultural sites. I wonder if Trump realizes this would
be a criminal act. A war crime that could get him charged by a
international body. A judgment even the supreme court couldn't
overturn.

Trump best study international law before he walks into something
he can't back out of. Even wars have rules, and Trump best learn
them, because he could be held libel   for war crimes, and the
GOP couldn't help save him. He might escape prosecution
here, but he couldn't leave the country.

So far Trumps action hasn't received much if any support from
the international community. Now Iraq's governing body is pushing
to expel the U S military from the country. So what will Trump
say about that? Is Trump going to use military force to stay in
Iraq? Only time will tell.

Apparently the secretary of state has informed the Russian
Ambassador of of Trumps reasons for the assassination, but
not congress. This is an insult against the constitution by
Trump. To put an enemy of the country above congress
shows a total lack of respect for constitutional rule. The
secretary of state was on news shows making excuses
for Trump. Instead  he should be talking to congress.

It's likely Trump is doing this to distract the news away from his impeachment.
Ever since he ran for office he has done this. Each time the news centered around
something he didn't like, he would do something to change  the news. This time
his use of Iran, may have been a step too far, but only time will tell. As the GOP,
and his followers see him  almost like a sword and shield
wielding King, there to protect them.

As I figured they would, the people of Iran have made a martyr of their top
general. I am sure Trump was told this would likely happen. When Trump was
running for office he said he didn't want war, and would bring our forces home.
Yet he hires some of the worst war hawks in government for advisers. It's no
wonder we are moving toward another middle east war. This with a president
who is a neophyte, worst yet he thinks he is smart enough to know how
to run a war. Something the last 3 years have shown he doesn't know
how to do anything but cheat tax payers, by running our country as
he thinks a mob boss would.

Trump is threatening Iraq with sanctions if they get serious about wanting
our troops to leave the country. In the past Russia was an ally of Iraq. So
sanctions could send them right back to Russia for help.  That would put
Russia back in control of a large part of the middle east. Syria, Iran, and
Iraq, with influence growing in Turkey. This would put Israel at risk, and
they have nuclear weapons. Weapons  they would likely use if they were
about to be driven from their country.

Also Saudi Arabia and others around the Red sea would find themselves
at risk as well, and will likely be attacked if we use those areas to base
our troops while fighting Iran.

Yes, we have the military power to defeat Iran, but with a man like Trump
at the helm, I fear we will loose thousands of troops. The people of Iran,
unlike Iraq won't welcome our troops, and will face constant attack while
trying to occupy Iran. Also Iran fighters will attack any American anywhere
in the world they find them.

So Trump's plan to use a war to stay in office will put our national security
at high risk. Something Trump supporters may grow to hate if thousands
of our troops come home in bags. Not counting other Americans killed
 due to  Iranian terrorists.

If Trump thinks threats will work against Iran, it's a shame it's not him
who stands to loose, and not our people. Now Iran is putting their nuclear
program into high gear. So Trump will likely use this as an excuse to start
a war. A serious problem he created by pulling out of the deal Obama made
in the first place. Just because Trump hated the fact we had a black man in
the white house.

President Trump likes to feel important. So when he feels like he has
something special to say, he loves to make the world wait, 30 minutes
this time for his speech about Iran. Something I did notice was that
he was out of breath, like he had been running. He did come down
stairs as he entered the room. So perhaps he had just ran up stairs
so he could  come down. If he was that much out of breath climbing
a set of stairs he may be having medical issues we don't know about.
I also noticed he was having a bit of trouble with the pronouncement
of a word  or two.

He left immediately like he wasn't feeling good. Of course it could be
because his people told him not to answer questions. As when he does
he often sticks his foot in his mouth with his bellicose bragging.

Trump warned Iran he wouldn't let them have a nuclear weapon, but
said nothing about how he might prevent it. Basically his speech said
little we didn't already know. I got the impression he really didn't want
to be in the room, much less making a speech. Almost like he
was upset and was trying hard not to blow up in front of reporters.

Trump just couldn't help himself. He had to blame Obama, by saying
Obama's deal with Iran paid for their missiles. This is a ridiculous
claim. The 150 billion they got with the deal was money that belonged
to them, not us, as Trump has always wanted to claim.

Trumps hatred for Obama has done harm to our national  security, and
his breaking of the nuclear deal brought on  attacks by Iran that have
killed so many since. This is a big reason Trump should be removed,
and or not re elected. A president who has hate in his heart is a danger to
himself and our country.

Moscow Mitch and other republicans are calling those who are against
war with Iran, un-american. This is typical of war mongers as many in
the GOP are. It's the right of all Americans to  speak out, when they
see something they believe is wrong, and war to feed the ideology of a
few is definitely wrong.

The Ukrainian plane that crashed soon after taking off from an Iranian  airport
was likely caused by a missile strike. A missile likely launched due to fear of
a U S counter attack. This is what happens when war is started. These people
could still be alive if Trump had used good sense instead of making an attack
he apparently has no good excuse for, other than saying the man they killed
was a terrible person. To be sure Trump didn't fire the missile, but actions
like his often have bad results.

Moscow Mitch continues to protect Trump by not wanting a honest trial in
the senate for his  removal. As usual the senate leader claims we the GOP
know what's best for the country, so live with it.

The house is planning a vote to prevent Trump  from making preemptive
attacks on Iran. Unless approved by congress, as provided in the war
powers act. Of course Trump will likely veto it even if the senate is
allowed to vote on it. Hopefully there will be a veto proof vote to
stop our corrupt president from starting a war he feels should
get him re elected. Now some war mongering members of the
GOP are crying it will help Iran by keeping Trump from attacking
them when he wants to.

Trump lied today when he claimed the speaker supported the Iranian
General Trump killed. She  said she didn't like anyone to die. Not pointing
to any one person as Trump does.

The GOP and Trump may like war if it helps them politically, but
I haven't seen very many soldiers who like war. Those who do
are a danger to the country, and peace loving people. War is always
a act of last resort. Diplomacy is always preferred, something Trump
doesn't understand. With him it's either buy them, bully them or
con them. Then if that fails hire people to kill them, just as a mob
boss would. Those who support a man like this should be ashamed.

Trump claims we are safer due to his attacks on Iran, but if we
have to leave Iraq. Who will keep ISIS from coming back? Iran
has terrorists around the world that can attack at the wish of
Iranian leaders. These people don't wear uniforms, and can
mix with American soldiers or tourists. And many are willing to
die to accomplish their ends.

After a week Trump claims Iran's top general was out to attack our
embassy's. I find it odd it took the Trump administration a week to
come up with this excuse for their attack on Iran's general. The
secretary of state claimed the senate was told this, even though
none of the senators mentioned it, and some claim they weren't
told this at all.

It's rather obvious that Trump thought this up at his rally and
now his cronies have to claim this as well. If the general had
this plan about to go, his death would likely not stop it, but
if anything promoted it's completion. So far nothing but a few
rockets have been fired at any embassy, which have missed.

A General comes up with the plan, but the troops do the job.
So his death wouldn't have stopped a planned attack, especially
if it was really immanent. It's likely the mob attack on our
Iraq embassy gave Trump an excuse to attack Iran. So the
fact the general happened to be available gave Trump an
opportunity to change the news  headlines from impeachment
to Trump ridding the world of a terrible Iranian General.

I don't think Trump understood how much flack he could
catch over this. Especially from Iran. Also he seems to feel
under appreciated for something he probably thinks should
have gotten him a lot of praise.

Trump thinks his word should be law, so when congress
asked for the justification. Trump went to his rally with lies,
misleading them by saying the Democrats were wanting
him  to get their permission to protect Americans. Claiming
this would keep him from doing his job. What he didn't
explain to his rally is congress was only asking  for the
reason or justification  for the attack, not to give
permission to prevent an intimate attack as he
claimed.

Puerto Rico suffered strong earthquakes not long ago. Trump
did approve some aid, but during the last budget he cut
funding for government aid for the continuing recovery from
the 2017 hurricane damage to the island. It seems Trump is
still mad because of the bad press he got because of his inaction
at the time.  It's obvious Trump considers the people of Puerto
Rico second class citizens because of their Hispanic heritage.
He doesn't seem to care that many young people from Puerto
Rico have given their lives fighting for our country.

If Trump wasn't president he would be laughed off any stage he
got on to make a speech. The sad thing is he is president, and
even worse  he has support from people who think he is working
for them. One day they will come to realize just how bad he is. We
can only hope he doesn't wreck the country before he has to leave
office.

I often wondered how Trump would handle a crisis, and it took one
of his own making before he had to deal with one. It doesn't really
surprise me that he is blundering his way through it. Because he,
instead of  doing what he promised, he hired bad people instead
of hiring people who know what to do. Why? Because good people
wouldn't lie for him, or give him total loyalty. Then when career
people wouldn't lie for him either, he had them replaced with more
bad people. So instead of draining the swamp, he just made it deeper,
and instead of making it harder for lobbyists he turns the white
house into a haven for them. All this in the  name of making money
for himself. Because working for the country instead of himself is
being a looser.

If our embassy's were at risk, how come none were warned? This
just shows he will lie about anything to make himself look good. His
hate for Obama is putting our national security at risk, along with our
environment. He is working to undo anything, and everything Obama
did, no matter how good it was.

Not long ago Trump cried about the fact he is yet to receive a Nobel
prize. Something Obama got, and it drives him crazy. Trump is a child
in a man's body. He desires praise for everything he does, and if he
makes a mistake it's always because of someone else. We all want
to be appreciated, but true praise comes from hard work and giving
of ones self for others. Something Trump is unable to do. If by chance
he does do something, he wants to be paid for it.

More strong earthquakes are hitting Puerto Rico, but help from the
Trump administration is slow to come. Yes FIMA is there, but not to
help individuals, but for structural damage. I have a hunch the only
ones that will receive aid is people who give Trump praise, and friends.
He will likely only help others as much as he feels necessary. It wouldn't
surprise me if China, or Russia offered them help with hopes of gaining
a foot hold on the island. Just as they are doing in south America.

The latest on the passenger plane that was shot down over Iran, is it
was shot down apparently by mistake. By their national guard who
took credit for it. It would be interesting to know why they didn't shoot
at the previous 9 passenger plane's that left earlier that morning.

It's 296 days to go till the 2020 election, and hopefully Trumps loss.

It's time voters tell Trump he isn't good enough to be president, or
smart enough. I have to admit the media has misrepresented some
of what he says. I think if left alone Trump might have some good
ideas, but he is too much of a coward to stand up for himself. He is
too afraid of loosing the next election, when he should do what is
right, and not what the far right or GOP leadership wants him to do.

I think the GOP leadership knows how corrupt Trump is, but they don't
want to loose the White House, and they feel Trump is their best chance
to keep it. They know Trump will give them far right nominees, many of
which aren't even qualified for the federal courts, and even the supreme
court. People they feel will protect their rich donors, rid the country of
homosexuality rights, abortion, put minorities in their place,  along with
keeping immigrants of color out of the country.

I know a lot of people who are republicans, and most of them are
good people. They have been misled by Trump and the GOP to keep
the rich in control of the country. The rich don't want regular people or
women running the country. Because they know they will help people
they consider lazy, and good for nothing. People they can send to fight
wars for them, because their kids are too good to risk in war. Think not?
Most of those in government who want war, rarely ever send their kids
to fight wars. Except as officers who's job is to manage wars and not
fight them.

It appears the impeachment trial in the senate my start next week.
This so called trial is likely going to be more of a joke as Moscow Mitch
is out to keep Trump in the white house at any cost. The GOP have
no interest in having witnesses and evidence they know will show
Trumps guilt. A guilt that will make it hard for them to vote to
keep him. Because 20 GOP members have to explain to their
voters why they voted to keep a corrupt president in office, and
it might cost them their re election.

It's 295 days to go till the 2020 election, and hopefully Trumps loss.

It's 3 weeks till the Iowa primary, and it appears the candidates are
feeling the pressure. Seems a battle between Sanders and Warren is
about to be joined. Personally I like Warren, but the bias against women
being president with many voters might make Sanders the better choice.

Moscow Mitch still wants to make the impeachment trial short and sweet
for Trump. So time will tell if this will help the GOP and Trump, or hurt them
this November. As with all politics, impeachment may be the least of their
trouble by election day. The economy could be down, or we could be at
war. With Trump who can say.

Trump has already shown he is running against the perceived socialist plans
by progressive candidates. Plans that would cost the richest Americans a little
of their money, and that of large corporations as well. Some of these people
and corporations pay little or no tax at all with the help of the GOP and Trump.
Something Trump calls being smart. Yes the GOP have worked hard to allow
so called smart people to avoid taxes. Then they blame government deficits
on public programs for the poor, and elderly.

It's all about greed. The GOP plays on peoples greed, and their ideas that
the poor are poor because they want to be. I guess they think old people
want to be poor as well. To be sure good planning and  a bit of luck generally
keeps people from being needy. But a disability or serious health problem
can put all plans askew. Also having to ask for help is demeaning, where
public aid is generally thought of as being owed to one for being a
legal citizen of a country.  Just as taxes are owed as part of being
a legal citizen too.

President Trump continues to pressure Iran. Wanting them to capitulate.
To give into his demands. Trump doesn't seem to understand why anyone
would be willing to give up money and prosperity by refusing his  demands.
Trump will have to learn, not everyone worships money as he does. He has
tried the same thing with North Korea, but that leader worships power
more than money.

293 days till the 2020 election.

President Trump is signing a treaty with China that is according to Trump a great
advance in fairness. Though Trump will make a big deal out of it, it still depends
on China standing by their promises. Something they have failed to do in the
past. We must remember Trump lies, any time it stands to help himself. Just
as he is doing with the new trade agreement with Canada and Mexico. An
agreement that has a change more in name than value.

Trump continues to brag on the stock market.  Gains that benefit the rich
much more than the average American. Just more proof Trump and the
GOP are out to  benefit the rich, and to cut anything that benefits the
needy or poor, and how it can reduce the deficit without raising taxes.

This is why they don't want government involved with health care. They
know it would require raising taxes. So they want to turn it over to big
insurance corporations that care more about their profits than public
health, much less it's cost to the average American in insurance
premiums or drug prices. The GOP and Trump claim competition
will cut costs, but the GOP works to remove competition from their
big business friends, so they can charge any price they wish.

I will be surprised if the Senate leader Moscow Mitch allows any witnesses or
new evidence to be delivered during this sham of a trial. In his mind the senate
knows whats best for the country, and he as leader works to keep that power for
the GOP. This is why he is working hard to put conservative judges on as many
federal courts as possible. Judges that have the same beliefs as the GOP leadership.

He also knows it's very difficult to remove a federal judge. Basically it takes a
two thirds  vote by the senate. A vote that is hard to  get, especially if one
party disagrees. This was why there was a rule requiring a three tiffs vote to
put a man on the court, but Moscow Mitch changed the rule so he could
do it with a simple majority.

You can be sure all these conservative judges won't give minorities,
women, or the LGBTQ a favorable ruling if they can get by with it.

So the only way this conservative firewall can be broken is with
congress passing laws to limit the power of judges. Otherwise
the rights of the average person will be curtails to favor the
far right.

It seems that many of the GOP members of congress and the senate worship
power and money over the good of the country. We know Trump loves money,
and all that it will buy for him. I don't really think power is a big thing with him.
More likely it's the respect of  the rich he mostly desires. Over the years the
upper class has thought of him as a big mouth con artist, and laughed about
his losses and bluster. So being president has made him a big man, a man to
chase after for favors. As president, Trump can hand out  valuable government
contracts. Or at least give them leads and inside information to make millions.
They only need to give him money, praise and  valuable advice to get his favor.

I think this is why he enjoys his rally's. The crowds  feeds his ego, a ego that
needs praise and respect. Something he has desired all his life. I don't think
he can even admit to himself that he isn't smart enough  to do a good job
as president. He desperately  wants to be known as a great president, a
president that is much better than Obama. Because he apparently thinks
no black man or woman could be as smart as he is, or anyone of color for
that matter.

292 days till the election of the century.

Moscow Mitch stood at his podium and said. Trump didn't break the law. This
was totally said for the benefit of their GOP base of voters. Because he knows
a president only has to break his or her oath of office to be impeached, and
Trump has done this several times since taking that oath he doesn't respect.
Also the leader of the senate knows very well that Trump has broken the
law, not once, but several times.

Attorney general Barr claims a president can't break the law, because he
is above the law. A claim he makes that the constitution gives a president
total immunity. A belief held by Barr that those who have no partisan
reading of the constitution, experts all, say is wrong. Trump nominated
Barr because of this, and the GOP made him attorney general knowing
Barr felt this way. Trump wanted a legal fixer, and he got one with Barr.
A man who uses his office to protect president Trump, and not the people.

Since Trumps impeachment a lot more evidence of his guilt has come
to light. Of  course the GOP want to ignore it all, as they have throughout
this  process. Instead they complain about fairness for Trump their King.
All because they want to keep control of the presidency for themselves,
the GOP.

Since this trial will be on national television, we can expect a lot of partisan
posturing. Especially by the GOP. The Sargent of arms made a statement that
if any senator failed to keep quiet during the trial, they could go to jail. Some
how  I doubt if that is enforced to any degree.

So far the decision wither to have witnesses or not hasn't been made, but there
could be up to five GOP senators breaking with the senate leader, and will vote
to have witnesses and evidence as a part of the trial. Only time will tell if this
happens or not, but national polls show even with republicans 70% feel
witnesses and evidence should be added. So I am sure GOP senators are
under pressure to vote for them. Especially with 20 of them up for re
election.

I will try to keep readers up on the impeachment trial.
Modestly anyway, ignoring the nonsense as best I can.

291 days to go. Mr President.

President Trump has complained all along that the so called DEEP State stands in
his way. As it turns out it's his own people who are blocking him in most cases. This
is likely why he has fired so many people. He only wants people who will go along
with what ever he wants, legal or not. Then if they get caught he fires them for
making him look bad. Just more of Trump's mob boss mentality.

Can Trump stay off of Twitter during his impeachment trial? I really doubt it.
If he was really smart he go to his Florida resort, and play golf or whatever
else he likes   to do till the trial was over. Above all stay off line and not watch
television.

Instead I am sure he will stick his nose into the trial, and complain  on Twitter.
He may even  fire one or more of his lawyers if they don't do as he wants.
Trump's big problem  is he isn't smart enough to know how dumb he  is. It's

It's a shame many of his supporters just follow Trump along, while he herds
them  like a flock of   sheep, instead of thinking  for themselves. But anyone
who  has been in a cult  would  see Trump for what he is. A money hungry
con artist who will do what it takes to stay in the White House.

He has hired a bunch of high priced lawyers, lawyers he expects to stand up for him.
I wonder if they agreed to work for him for the good of the country or for their own
good? Only time will tell, but one I won't name said a president should be held more
accountable than any other American. So will he stand by his word or work to keep
the most corrupt man ever, in the white house? Already  just agreeing to be Trump's
lawyer seems to show his hypocrisy.

Only 290 days more to put up with election politics.

The group of lawyers Trump has to defend him in his impeachment trial, look
like they belong in a made for TV drama instead of real life. They are using
excuses that make no sense to any honest constitutional lawyer or professor
in a college of law. It appears they are there to give the GOP senators any
excuse they can come up with, so they can vote to keep Trump without looking
like they are part of Trumps cover up. A cover up Trump continues to work on.

It seems Trump has a failing memory, because 20 years ago he called one of
his impeachment defense lawyers anything, but a good lawyer. Now he can't
brag enough on him. This seems to be a common problem Trump has with his
memory, because he often claims he doesn't know people he used to  hang
out with. Of course he could be telling lies instead. I wonder which one of
these excuses his followers and the GOP like best, lies or a failing memory?

A while back Trump changed rules to allow new roads, and other government
projects to be started without a proper environmental impact study. Studies
that prevent very costly mistakes, when later it's found out they are harmful
to the environment. Though these studies take a lot of time, history has shown
it saves money in the long run. It appears Trump uses the ignorance of many
to gain favor by removing rules history has shown we need to protect our
environment.

Trump like many in the GOP favor big business interests over the environment
and the public good. They do this to gain donations that help pay their re
election costs. Also big business want to support those in congress who
will look out for their profits.

This shows we need to change campaign finance laws so those elected
officials in government don't have to spend half their time raising
money  to be re elected. Instead tax money should be given to those
people support for elected office. Also we need term limits to have
fresh people in government. Not good old boy politics keeping people
in office for 20 - 30 years or more. Also change how we elect a
president, so he or she is elected by a popular vote of the country.
Not by an antiquated system of electors.

289 days to go. Make sure your registered to vote, because the GOP might remove you if you
for got to dot an "I" ore cross a "T" when you first registered.

The GOP and other Trump supporters always claim those who are indicted have no
credibility. Especially if they make Trump look bad. If this is the case, then why
give Trump any credibility either? If he wasn't  the president he would have one
and likely more indictments against him.

Moscow Mitch wants to keep the press away from Trump's impeachment trial. To
keep them from senators too. I guess he and Trump are afraid if the public finds
out how really crooked they are, it would be politically bad for them. This has been
a habit of the GOP for years. They want to hide their unscrupulous acts from the
public eye. Just as they did trying to kill Obama care, and their passage of the
their tax cut for the rich.

It is sad how the GOP feel they have to cheat, and remove voting rights. If they
didn't try to push their condescending ideas on the American public, and work
for the average person instead of the rich. They wouldn't need to. Now they
are letting the most corrupt president in modern history tell them what to do.
doesn't matter that Trump has committed criminal acts, Turned against
the constitution, and his oath of office. They still want to support and even
lie for him. I hope the GOP suffers their biggest loss in their history, during
the next election. Because to me their acts are unpatriotic, to say the least.

It's time the GOP stand up for their oath of office and the country. Trump is bad
for America, not just the GOP. Trump hasn't the mental capability to be the
president of the united states. Even as a business man he was a failure. If it
wasn't for his fathers fortune he would be broke, and living on welfare.

288 days to go. One year from today hopefully Trump will be out, and
perhaps indicted the same day. I bet he tries to pardon himself.
Even if he is allowed to do it, it won't save him from state crimes.

The trial starts tomorrow. Will Moscow Mitch go for a dismissal?
So far he is hiding his plans to defeat justice. It's possible enough
GOP senators mess up his plans by voting to have witnesses after
all. Something that could turn Trump's world upside down and shake
it. Who knows what might fall out. We know the GOP leaders and
Trump want to keep it hidden, so it must be really bad.

I understand the GOP defense is likely to be, "Yes he did it, but it isn't
impeachable." Well it's up to the senators to decide if it's impeachable
or not. Impeachment doesn't require anything but for a president
to break his oath of office. When the constitution was created
there was no laws for them to state except Treason and Bribery.
Seems to me holding back money for a favor is a form of bribery.
Only time will tell, but I don't think the GOP senators have the
guts to remove Trump, even though they should.

History has shown when a political leader hires people who
end up going to jail. That leader is usually just as guilty
as they are. If Trump didn't have the GOP to protect him
he would likely be in prison, just as is lawyer fixer is now.

Bloomberg, the billionaire running against Trump may not
deserve the nomination, but at least he is reminding the public
what kind of dirty president Trump really is.

I know a lot of people feel the Democrats are out to get rid
of the right to have firearms. This is a falsehood the GOP
use, because they know a lot of people will vote for them
if they appear to protect gun rights. The truth is it would
take a constitutional amendment to take firearms from
the public. This would require a 2 thirds vote of congress
and 2 thirds of the states to pass. The only thing Democrats
can do is regulate the use of firearms, and accessories.
This would be very limited, done mostly by states.

Another thing people should remember is Trump has failed
to keep even half of his campaign promises. He tries to
blame the Democrats for this, but his tax cut for the rich
and his huge budget for the military used up the money
needed for improving our infrastructure, and other projects.
Obviously this had nothing to do with the Democrats.

286 days till Trumps reckoning. It's likely he will claim vindication when
this so called trial fails to remove him, but we as voters will have the
last say.

Trump is in Switzerland pretending to be president while at home his
impeachment continues. He loves to claim how great he is. He creates
a problem, then if he manages to fix that problem he wants to claim
his greatness over it. Trump isn't even a passable president, but he
knows how to manipulate people, and how to convince his supporters
he is doing great things that have little or no value to anyone but
himself.

During his rally's he only wants to make a big speech about how
great a job he is doing, or to claim all his problems are due to
the Democrats. He never takes questions from his supporters.
One of them yelled a question and he called that person a rude
name, rather than giving a proper answer. He knows if he starts
answering questions he will likely hurt himself politically.

Though the GOP claim they want a fair trial, but they voted to not bring
relevant witnesses or evidence before them. We can only ask, what are
they afraid of? What is Trump afraid of by not providing evidence to
prove his innocence? Trump claims he can't, due to presidential
privilege, but that privileged is at his discretion. So that claim
just shows he wants to hide evidence.

The GOP want to put off witnesses till the end if at all. This is just
stalling, and Moscow Mitch will likely ask for a vote to dismiss after
arguments from both sides are made. Claiming there isn't any reason
to continue.

With 70% of the public wanting witnesses and evidence. I wonder what
excuse those senators up for re election will say to their voters if they
vote to reject witnesses and evidence at the end. A trial without witnesses
or evidence is no trial at all. So far the GOP are just making a joke out of
Trumps impeachment. Just as he wants it to be.

Politicians who claim innocence should want the proof laid out where all
can see. Coverups just shows those involved are afraid, and want
to hide something that would ruin them politically.

The GOP leadership are saying the impeachment articles  don't
justify removal of a president. These people are smarter than that.
They are just hoping the public is dumb enough to believe them.
This is risky on their part. Perhaps the public wilt forget by voting
day that the GOP voted to keep a very corrupt man in the white
house. But if they don't, the GOP could regret it for years to
come.

I find it strange the GOP would put so much at risk just to
keep control of the White House. They don't like Trump, they
just like the voter support he has. Because the Vice president
would give them conservative people for judges, and help
big business too, but it's very doubtful he could be elected
president.

285 days to go. The GOP should be following their oath, but
it seems they care more about staying in office  than
protecting our democracy. History may show this GOP
controlled senate being the most unpatriotic of our time.

While arguments were being made, some of the senators were
seen walking out, one even had a interview on Fox News when
he should have been in the senate chambers. The chief justice
should be calling these members down  for their lack of attention,
but apparently not. I can guarantee if a jurist in a court trial did
any of these things they would be fined or held in contempt.

Trump has the gall to tweet telling senators that having
the witnesses Democrats want would damage national
security. If anything having Trump as president damages
our national security. He talks to Putin of Russia who likely
gives him advice. He talks to other dictators around the
world more than our allies. Trump has publicly stated he
believes Putin over our CIA. It's likely Trump would sell us
out for money, if the offer was big enough.

Trump is nothing but a schoolyard bully in a mans body. He is
a child mentally and a danger to our country and the world. The
sooner he is removed from office the better for us all. Any man
who has temper tantrums has no business holding the most
powerful office in the world.

The only thing that could stand between us and a nuclear war is
our military leaders. Men Trump calls babies, and stupid, because
he thinks he is a military genius. A genius who isn't smart enough
to know his own ignorance. A true genius would never think of
them self that way. Because they would know their true limitations.
Something Trump would never admit, probably not even to
himself.

284 days to go. The GOP have tided their political lives to Trump. A man who
has in most elections since his near loss in 2016, has done little to help GOP
members win re election. It seems his followers like him, but they don't
listen that much to his demands on how they should vote.

I think the GOP and even the News Media have forgotten how close Trump came
to loosing. This near loss shows Trump may be popular with a substantial part
of the population, but not in control of them. Perhaps not even enough to
re elect GOP members who have turned their back on our country, just to
support Trump, a corrupt president. Elections over the past 3 years show how
much the GOP is risking, and in November they will earn their reward. A reward
they may not have wanted.

Those defending Trump, may claim he was only holding aid to stop corruption in
Ukraine, if that was the case why didn't Trump question this in 2017, and 2018?
He signed a bill giving aid to Ukraine in 2018. This claim of Trump only started
after Joe Biden entered the presidential race in April of 2019. Then why did he
hire a private investigator when he had the full power of the U S government to
do the job? The more you dissect this scheme of Trump, the more corrupt it looks.

As it happens even those in the White House were concerned, and worried it
would cause Trump trouble, but he never listens to advice he doesn't agree
with. The Mueller report showed how far Trump would go to cover up wrong
doings. But his attorney general claimed the report showed nothing wrong.
A man Trump and the GOP hired to protect and fix problems for their King.

The public at large may find it hard to see the problem, so the Democrats should
simplify it. A good example is where a home owner goes to city hall, and asks for
a permit to add a room on to their house. The person responsible for granting
permits tells them you got it, but I need a favor first. Give me a thousand in cash,
and the permit is yours. I think this would hit home with most voters. It's a form
of  corruption that has put many people in prison across the country. People in
government can't ask for personal favors  to do their jobs. Though some still try.

It seems Trump thinks he can run the country like a business, and offer bribes
to get the work done. He hadn't been president more than a few days when he
wanted to make it legal to offer bribes. He complained when his staff told him
he would have to get  congress to agree. So apparently Trump does believe as
the big eared guys in the TV show Star Trek do, that offering bribes is the proper
way of doing business. Perhaps the GOP does as well.

283 days to go. The presidents men speak out to defend him.

To hear them talk Trump is a great president, and how terrible it is that
such a great president be subject to impeachment. Isn't it interesting that
they want to talk about how good he is, but not about how he hides evidence.
Or to keep people from testifying about him. A innocent man does not hide
while claiming he didn't do it. An innocent man would want all evidence
revealed. So we can listen to all the excuses by his defense, but we won't
hear any part of what he is hiding.

Also they talked about how sad it would be to remove a president who
the people voted for. They failed to mention it was less than one hundred
thousand votes that gave him the win, and not by the majority of
the people, where he lost by almost 3 million votes.

The defense is playing selected hearings videos as the Democrats did.
Only thing  they fail to mention that their questions are asked in a way
to lead the  witness in most cases. Something a judge wouldn't allow,
but the GOP  didn't have to worry about a judge,  and if the Democrats
stopped them  hey would claim it was unfair.

They talk about Trump phone call, but I have yet to hear them read it
from start  to finish. Instead they want to point out things that have
nothing to do with the articles  of impeachment. Like Trump talked about
how much money he is giving  them over what  Germany is. Trump
seems to think our national security should be paid for by other
countries. Even to take natural resources  from them in payment
for our aid.

This just shows how little Trump understands diplomacy. If we
started to take resources that way, it would cause constant warfare,
and hate of our country. He just can't understand business practices
do not work between nations.

They also claimed Trump was only holding aid because of corruption, so
why did he wait till 2019 to complain about it. He approved aid in 2017
and in 2018 as well. So this corruption excuse just doesn't fly.

It seems the GOP is wanting to claim the whistle blower had a political
bias. Now isn't that interesting. So why is his report the same as the
transcript of Trumps call? If there was bias it would have been
different. The GOP and Trump have been trying to intimidate
anyone who might think about reporting wrong doing by
Trump or anyone working for him.

Much of the defense of Trump is there isn't any direct proof that
Trump did this. It is true Trump didn't come right out and say I am
going to extort Ukraine, but his words, and actions leads one to
believe it Well much of that has been hidden by Trump himself.
A the GOP wants to protect him, and will likely vote to dismiss
instead of requiring new evidence or witnesses. Also the defense
is wanting to give senators talking points, so they can go talk to
voters and defend their protection of Trump.

Some in the GOP complained when the Democrats accused Trump
of putting GOP senators heads on pikes if they don't support him.
They complain on this, after all of what Trump has done to
anyone who causes him trouble? It's nothing but sour  grapes.
Because they know if Trump thought he could get by with it,
he might just do it. Also they know if they turn against him
he will spend millions trying to ruin them politically, and
possibly more.

The worst statement was Trump feel he has good reason
to believe Russia's Putin over our CIA, This effectively gives
Putin control of Trump's thinking. Control that could tear
down our allies around the world, and loss of trust by
other Nations.

282 days to go. If they don't have the facts to defend Trump, then lie.

During their defense of Trump on Saturday they claimed the whole house
had to vote first to legally subpoena evidence or witnesses. This was a lie.
And they did vote to start a impeachment inquiry. Of course it was a partisan
vote since Trump had told all the GOP members to not vote for it. If they
did it was reported Trump would work to cost them their seat.

They claimed Trump was concerned about corruption. Another misleading
defense as he didn't do anything till Joe Biden entered the race for president.
A man that has a very good chance to  defeat him.

Another misleading statement was that Ukraine didn't know the aid was cut off till
after the call Trump made in July. Truth is they were asking about it in May.
They knew the aid had been approved, but where is it?

They also said the president of Ukraine said he wasn't under any pressure by Trump.
What would anyone say if they had a virtual gun to their head. Because if he said he
was being pressured, Trump would likely leave Ukraine without any aid.

This has been the way the GOP has defended Trump all along. They come of with one
excuse after another. To claim the process was unfair. Even though the Democrats
satisfied every one of their excuses as it went along. It appears they still want to
use the same old excuses. Perhaps they think we have forgotten, now that they know
the Democrats can't come back and dispute them on the floor of the senate.

The GOP say the Democrats should have gone to court to get evidence  and
witnesses. The reason they didn't, is that it would take months if not years
to defeat every defense Trumps team would use to fight it. They would
run it all the way to the Supreme court again and again. If Trump isn't
removed he will use all the power of the presidency to win in November.
No matter wither it's legal or not, and the GOP will be behind him all the
way.

It is sad for our country in that the conservative media continues to protect Trump,
the most corrupt president in modern history. What will they say if when we put a
Democrat in the white house that does the same thing? What will the GOP do if
this happens? I have a good hunch they will be squealing like stuck hogs, and
demanding immediate impeachment. You can be sure they will demand all
evidence and to hear from all witnesses as well.

Some of the GOP are complaining about the Democrats and media calling Trump
names. Guess they forgot all the nasty names they called Trump during his
campaign. Now they practically kiss Trumps feet. I think the GOP leadership
will do what ever it takes to keep political power. Perhaps they think Trump
is bad, but by the time he is out they can fix everything he wrecked.

That is very short sighted, because Russia and  China are gaining influence
around the world. If Trump continues with another term. It will take many
years if at all to undo the damage to freedom for people around the world.
Some might think we shouldn't care, but if we are alone, others will control
trade, and commerce. Leaving us behind.

281 days to go. Over the weekend evidence came out by first hand account
that Trump did want to hold aid from Ukraine till they publicly accused Joe
Biden of corruption. Of course Trump is calling it a lie. The problem for
Trump is the man is willing to testify this in the senate under penalty of
perjury. Will  Trump do the same?

The interesting thing about this is, this man is very conservative, and the
GOP leadership pushed to have him working for Trump. So will they turn
on him now? Then go with Trump and his lies. A man who lies nearly
every time he opens his mouth.

Will this new evidence sway a least 4 GOP senators enough to vote to see
it? Or will they join with Trump and his cover up? I have a hunch there are
a lot of people expecting to get a pardon from Trump. Other wise they will
be spending time in prison when Trump is gone. Perhaps even Trump's
attorney general, and Trump himself.

Already Trump's supporters are wanting to say even if Trump did it, it's not
bad enough to impeach him. To follow this logic impeachment for any reason
will never happen, for any president. In spite of what Barr claims, the president
shouldn't be immune from legal investigations or indictments. We have a vice
president to step in if needed.

The Iowa primary is only a week away, and it appears Senator Sanders is in the
lead. Not only that, he is leading in New Hampshire too. The first states voting
for a Democratic nominee for president. If he wins in both states, he will have
a start that my be hard to stop. Time will tell, but already the GOP is taking
notice, and will be bad mouthing him if he does take the lead.

People who worry that Sanders is a socialist, shouldn't worry, because he can't
do much unless congress, and the senate agree. At least, unlike Trump he cares
about the people, not just those who vote for him. Also he cares about national
security, and won't be the puppet of big business and world dictators for the
money it might gain him. Something Trump lives for.

I think Sanders would make a fine president. He isn't perfect, and unlike Trump
he doesn't claim to be. He will work for our health and environment, and I am
sure he will attempt to undo Trump's harm to our country, and work for our
economic health. Unlike Trump he will work for jobs, not just claim to. Stop
wasting money on a wall that exists only for Trump's good.

I think all those running for the Democratic nomination would do the job,  unlike
Trump who mostly pretends to, and spends a third of his time playing or tweeting.

280 days to go. You can tell Trump's defense team is following his orders.
Some have reversed their opinions since they were for impeachment of
President Clinton some 20 years ago. So are they working for the good
of the country, or their back pocket and Trump's favor?

If abuse of power isn't impeachable, just what is? Trump has given national
secrets to Russia, a country who wants us out of the way. Though Trump
has done a little good, which is debatable. We have to hold him accountable
or we might as well give him a crown and scepter. Where we must obey or
have our heads put on pikes.

Some say to be fair Trump must have a defense. Well to be fair to the
people there should be witnesses and evidence too. Only thing is the GOP
and Trump don't care about the people, or the constitution. They only
care about themselves, and the power they want to keep.

If you think they do care about the people. Then why only the rich, and not
the average American? It's been shown Trump thinks little of people of color,
and to him women are only good for rich men to play with. He implied this
in a video.

The sad thing is people voted for him after seeing this. I am sure many will
vote for him again, but this time there will be a real effort to defeat him.
Because this time, people know him much better than before. Even lies
from his friends in Russia may not be enough to help him win.

Some might feel why not accept evidence from a foreign country. They
problem with that is it's validity can't be proven. Allowing a president
to extort such evidence would likely be used to harm any opponent
that put any corrupt presidents re election at risk.

Not only has Trump tried to get dirt on Biden from Ukraine. He has
attorney general Barr traveling the world looking for anything he can
find to hurt Joe Biden. A man Trump fears will defeat him. Trump
barely won in 2016, and he has done little to increase his voter
base since then. So he may lose big, and take many GOP
politicians he has corrupted with him.

Will the GOP controlled senate do as the people want, which is
having evidence and witnesses? If they fail to do so, they may
pay dearly by losing their next election. This puts them in a
box, because having witnesses will keep this impeachment
trial going for weeks, and new revelations about Trump's
guilt continue to build. Perhaps to the point where they
will have to vote to remove, or at least for his guilt.
