An aircraft from one of my former units was involved in a midair collision. Seven people involved, two from that squadron, and five were just declared dead after SAR couldn't find them after a week of searching. Nobody knows who is living or dead until after next of kin have been notified.
When I saw it on TV, I did wonder if you knew any of them or had a connection.
I am very sorry Varg, and I am at a loss as what to say.

They will NOT be forgotten!

Didn't the last Ebola epidemic occur partially because people were eating bush meat which was a bat with Ebola? I believe this is correct.
Now, this does not mean that all bats have issues or diseases.  Just like people here think ALL coyotes have rabies.  Nope!
All animals, us too, harbor pathogens.  That's enough to scare me out of eating unusual food/animals.  I still have some reservations of eating farmed animals, and even then I cook the $%^& out of it.

Yeah, drinking bat blood cures everything. NOT!  I bet you could give them MY blood, and they wouldn't know the difference.
And besides, blood when it hits stomach acid, is probably mostly "cooked" by the acid and denatured.  At that point, its just a meal of crude protein, minerals, and water.  Isn't that the job of the stomach, to render food into something that the guts can work with?

So sad people are convinced that these old stories are true.  No cure to be had in drinking bat blood.

I once got to see a bat flight event, out of a cave entrance around dusk.  maybe 200,000+ swarmed out for over 1 hour.  it was a natural wonder!
we were not allowed to take images, as the electronics in the cameras made sounds that were ultrasonic, and caused issues with bat navigation.

I agree with the "goofing off" bit.  I fursuit at wrestling shows, and often dance to the entrance music of good guys.  :)

President Trump is still trying to get his wall with Mexico. He claims
Mexico will pay for it, but if it is built the tax payers of the United states
will pay for it. Trump is saying he will shut the government down if he
doesn't get funding for his wall. A wall is no barrier to criminals wanting
to get into  the country. Trumps claims it will is just shows his ignorance.
I think this wall of his is more about his re election than national security.

Trump apparently feels his shut down of the government will gain him
votes. Time will tell, but I think it will do him more harm thant good
including the GOP.

Supporters of president Trump seem to think all this information about
Trumps criminal activity is just the left wanting to get rid of Trump.

It sad that talk radio and some tv outlets want to support Trump even
with the growing evidence of his bad doings. I think a lot of it is about

money instead of facts. Trump has a big following and speaking in
a way that favors Trump can make a lot of money from advertising.

Bats have gotten a bad reputation from old tales and stories that have little or no
basis in facts.

The idea that all bats have rabies is wrong. My understanding is they are a big
benifit in the tons of insects they consume daily.

Some communities have gone out of their way to kill bat colonies thinking they
are a rabies risk.  Bats don't attack humans. Only vampire bats go after blood.
The rest eat insects and some fruits. Vampire bats live in South america,

Bats are intelligent creatures that benifit our inviroment. I would think if science
wants their blood they would breed them for that purpose.
