President Trump spoke at the republican political action committee.
It was a campaign style speech where he talked about how he won
the election in 2016. Seems Trump can't let his past go. It was odd
they never showed the audience during the speech. Makes one wonder
how big the audience was. The cheers didn't sound that loud.

During Trumps campaign he claimed he would never put guns in schools.
Well just another  broken promise or was it a lie since he is pushing for it
now. Puting weapons in the hands of even trained teachers would put
them and their students in greater danger. During the chaos of a
shooting it would be difficult to see the shooter. Might work to protect
a classroom, but when firearms are available, random anger can
lead to someone being shot. It's likely innocent students could be
killed in a hallway firefight. It's likely fewer people would be killed
if the shooter was mobbed instead, of course that isn't going to
happen.

The special counsel continues to indict people who worked in
Trumps campaign. Mostly about money laundering and Tax
fraud so far. One can wonder what these people might say
about Trumps activities while they worked for him. It's likely
the special counsel will offer deals to those who offer
evidence of wrong doing by Trump and his campaign.

Trump calls anyone who accuses  him of wrong doing
a lier. It seems those around him learn to do the
same. Trump claimed he was going to hire the best
people. Well how come all these great people can't
get security clearance? Even Trumps son n law hasn't
received clearance. Even though Trump lets him see all
of our state secrets.

A sudden new 6" of snow right at rush hour to get home.  No snow plows and no road treatments.  About 25 Deg F, and 15 MPH wind. Low humidity.  Took 2.5 hours to drive only 27 miles.

Trump and the GOP are wanting to arm teachers and Armour plate
schools instead of some limited restrictions on gun sales to some
people or the mentally ill. They don't even like putting waiting period
to purchase a firearm. Sometimes if a person becomes angry they
want to harm others. Giving them a few days to cool off isn't a bad
idea. Those against theses laws fear it will lead to stronger gun laws.

A few changes to schools would help, like metal doors instead of
glass doors. Use solid concrete for school hallway walls with strong
doors to classrooms. This would make schools safer during
severe weather as well.

Well it didn't take the NRA long. this morning the CEO of the
NRA spoke out saying how much they had tried to get gun
safety laws passed, but Obama and the democrats stood in
the way. Well why haven't they worked to pass them since
Trump and the GOP took over the government. After all
they gave them millions to get them elected in 2016. So
I am sure when they say rabbit the GOP leaders ask how
high to hop.

I think the GOP wants to keep gun legislation undone
so when they run for office they campaign that they will
protect gun rights because the democrats won't. They
the same with immigration, because if they fixed it they
couldn't campaign saying the democrats won't protect the
country from bad aliens.

The GOP claim they are the only party that will protect
jobs. All the GOP wants is power and money like most
rich people do. So they work to cut taxes knowing the
democrats will have to raise taxes to keep the government
afloat. Then they can point and say we told you they only
want to raise taxes and give money to lazy people.  This
isn't new, but in the past there wre enough moderate to
keep either extreme from taking over.

Hopefully the younger generation will move more to the
political center. Many in the older white generation are afraid of
change, but as they die off change should take over. Hopefully the
Supreme court won't loose any judges this year allowing the
democrats a s chance to take over the senate. If the court goes
conservative many human rights may be lost. The supreme
court should be moderate, not conservative or liberal.

Some in the White house commented they were pleased that
the school shotting diverted the news from the president and
the staff. Rather insensitive of them I think. I doubt if the
diversion lasts long. They earn all the bad press they get.

How long will Trumps supporters stand up for a man who seems
to care more about Russia than the U.S.A. and of course himself.

I payed tax in my five month job last year, but didn't actually make enough for it to be taxable. So I get 70 back from the government.

School kids across the nation are letting Trump and congress know
they are tired of the same old thing. They talk the talk, but never
walk the walk when it comes to gun safety legislation.

Trump and the GOP are calling for a bipartisan committee to look into
the issue. The young people best keep the pressure up because it's
likely the NRA is pressuring Trump and the GOP to stall. They and
the GOP know in most cases if they stall longenough the issue will
fade away. The NRA will likely spend what it takes to limit any and
all firearm legislation. This includes advertising to convince people
they should tell congress to go slow. Otherwise they may loose
their gun rights. Only time will tell.

This issue may cost the GOP and Trump some of their
support if they don't take it seriously. People care
about their kids more than most any other issue.

I upgraded to Firefox 58 only to discover that Mozilla removed the dark theme... and that third-party themes don't work right with this version, so I'm stuck with the nasty default light theme. Now my eyes are bleeding. x_x

(Why do I keep upgrading things? I thought I resolved never to upgrade things again because stuff like this always happens when I upgrade things. I am smouldering with incandescent rage.)
