Edit Test
« on: May 29, 2012, 03:51:12 pm »
I've noticed that if a post is edited soon after creation, it doesn't show an edit notice.  I'm testing to see how/how often this can happen.

This post has been edited 5 times.

I'm guessing it might be the case that this post can be edited without notice so long as it isn't viewed again.  Testing that now...

...Or not.  I think this might happen if the post is edited within a certain time frame after completion.

I always assumed it was time frame. On facebook, if you try to delete a post seconds after you posted it, it'll assume you just want to edit and go into an editing mode rather than delete it.

Yes, this is what happens. What the specified time frame is, I don't know.

I edit things a lot, usually fixing grammar or spelling and such. And my experience is that it either is, or is close to 1 and a half minutes.

edit----

Confirmed, the earliest time stamp showed 1 and a half minutes after the post time, (Though it's no longer relevant since I added this last part, but it was 1 and a half minutes). ;)
