Hopefully, not at a convenience store with all that sugary topping! I think you have better taste then that! 8)

I'm officially giving up on watercolor painting. It's not giving me the look needed. And it's as hard as it's reputation. And I'm still really bad at them. Can't see sticking with a medium that I'm not happy with. Going to go to acrylics.  Sticking with the same brand I used in watercolor. M Graham. Got 7 tubes on the way. Cadmium red, cadmium yellow, ultramarine blue, titanium white, burnt sienna, burnt umber and yellow ocher. I know these are all warm colors. Be able to make cool colors with these paints easily. Also have a bottle of Grumbacher gesso on the way as well. Going to use all this watercolor paper I have to gesso over and practice with. Good news is a had full of the water color brushes I have will handle acrylic paint. The rest will get put up with the watercolor paints.

I would love to play with oil. it's the chemicals that are keeping me away. I know they make water soluble paints but you still have odors to deal with. Pro acrylics don't have the same bad smells as the cheaper paints. They don't use all the additives cheap paints use to thin them down.

Right now i'm practicing with craft acrylics on untreated watercolor paper. Not the best. But all I'm practicing now is brush strokes and control. Once the new paint and gesso come in I'll be doing a lot of value and color studies to get used to this new medium.

More acrylic painting stuff. Don't know what i was thinking when I ordered what, in reality is two oranges and a purlple. :) . Cad yellow deep is orange, cad red is a warm red so it goes to the orange side of things. And aquamarine blue is a cool or purple blue. And that red is on the cool side of the wheel.  So the stuff I have coming will even my color wheel out and give me a good variety for both warm and cool colors. I'll mark the cool colors with a "C". All M Graham heavy body acrylics. Cad Yellow, Phithalo blue (green shade), Hansa yellow "C", Phithalo green ( yellow shade). End up with one each of warm and cool colors. The cad yellow deep ( orange ) and phithalo green being my only two extra colors. Easier to go ahead and have these two instead of mixing the color first. Wile working with water color I've learned that these six colors, plus the earth tones, give an extremely wide range of color when mixed.

Also have a few brushes coming. Kind of the same problem I had when getting watercolor brushes. I have to buy a few to try them.  Also on the way is a retarder. Used to slow the drying time of acrylics down. Should give me between ten to thirty minutes of blending time. And a flow aid. Used to water down acrylics for better paint flow. Ya, I know i can use water. But like the look of the flow aid better.

After all of that I forget to get one color.  I only have one of the reds I need. Going to order quinacridone magenta to complete my set. Two reds, two blues, two yellows, one green and one orange. Ordering one thing will kill me on shipping. Might as well order different brushes as well. Try one from a few different makers to see what will work for me. Painting with Walmart cheapos right now. Like painting with a hammer. :)

I've been watching almost as many youtube vids on color and painting as I am No Man's Sky. Only difference is I can use what I learn to paint. Still don't have a set up to play the game.

5 quarts Valvoline full synthetic 5W-30 high mileage oil.
It's oil for high mileage vehicles,  the oil has no miles on it . I hope.
That sounded confusing.
