A question for our scalies!
« on: July 07, 2013, 09:47:28 pm »
I've been planning/designing a couple fursuits lately, one which would involve scales, and I'd like to ask how our scalies have managed a "scaley" look? Did you use a certain type of fabric?

My dragon costume has individual scales, each embroidered, backed and beaded and sewn onto a fitted underlayer thing for the top, and a scale pattern stitched into the pants fabric with metallic thread. Belly scales were defined with extra padding and piping around each section. Used an iredescent red/black crinkled silk fabric for it, but all that is probably a lot more work than most people want xP
