Time for a Dany update.
It's about three months since that picture was taken, and she's gotten a bit bigger. She's shed two or three times now. She's currently shedding across her head and front legs, with huge patches of scales hanging off, so she looks a bit like a batman villain XD
We've made some progress on teaching her to eat off a plate. She'll eat things that are left for her on her log, and will actively chase down any live food that is put in her tank. She's bright-eyed, spiky and, while still afraid of most new things, doesn't flail around to try and escape any more. She likes to snooze on people's chests during the day, but perks up when someone plays Assassin's Creed, and she tries to get at the Xbox
The less good news. We took her to the vet because she has a lump on her jaw, visable on both the underside and the inside of her mouth. The vet told us that, unless it grows, it is nothing to worry about (could be scar tissue, could be malformed bone in the jaw), but called our attention to something I had been wondering about for some time. Her lumpy, crooked legs. Turns out, she wasn't looked after properly by her former owners, and has had bone disease. Either her legs and toes never grew right or they broke and never healed correctly. There is nothing we can do about it now, they're going to be wrongly shaped for the rest of her life, but we can make sure that it doesn't happen again.
