« on: April 05, 2012, 09:53:37 pm »
So, where does everyone go to keep up with the world/local or international news? Are you a TV person, website or old fashioned news paper type of chap?

Mostly the internet. Actually... the only news I get anymore is from the internet.

I don't bother to pay for a physical newspaper, and I don't have a TV. Internet is all that's left. The majority of my news-reading happens when I'm burning some down time at work. MSN's website is one of the few that I actually have access to from work.

It all depends on what news I am looking for, and I normally gather from multiple sources for each story.

As far as what MEDIUMS I use...

For local: iPhone App for local stations, Newspaper, and TV.

For national: TV, Internet.

International: TV, Internet.

But like I said, which source I draw from depends on what the topic I am looking for news on is due to knowledge on the subject, and bias differing between sources. There is no definitive "good" answer for "best" overall source.

I get mine mostly from my email provider which has European news all over its front page and occasionally a bit of Aus news. The rest is just from talking to other people.

I usually read the newspaper (The Australian; the others don't really give enough national coverage) and the websites of a few newspapers.

Step 1) I hear about something over IRC or on a forum
Step 2) I google it, and read no less than 5 sites with good reputations, if possible, about it
Step 3) I then draw a conclusion based on that.

Except for IRC part, the same thing pretty much.
